We have a duty to change. So does our church.
Over the ages, Jehovah of the Old Testament and Jesus of the New have always taught us that part of our journey as Spiritual beings on earth is to learn how to grow by changing ourselves. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Days Saints is no different – it has a mandate from the Lord to continue improving, refining and updating policies, doctrines and practices to ensure that the Lord’s message is received accurately and perceived in the world in the best way possible.
My Philosophy and Blog
As I have journeyed throughout life and as a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I have come to see the world, the Church, it’s teachings, its policies and humanity in general in many more colors than I initially saw. As I have grown to see more depth and beauty in the world, my initial assumptions about how the church I belong to teaches Jesus’ message began to shift. Where I had belief in a closed system in the past (God and Oracles only), now I see opportunity for increasing beauty, depth, meaning and reach of the church by participating in the process.
This blog for me is an exploration of how to participate in strengthening and enlarging the tent of Zion. The act of committing the words to a page, like a journal, helps me take my thoughts more seriously. The act of committing words to a page like a blog that others can read will help me take my words as a sacred commitment.
